David Collins Leukaemia Foundation of Tasmania Post Graduate Scholarship

 

This Scholarship was established following an anonymous donation to fund a postgraduate or PhD student in Tasmania for laboratory and/or clinical research into bone marrow cancer.

The scholarship research provides $30,000 for:

  • A research project (conditional on ethics approval).
  • To assist with the purchase of resources or equipment that has a demonstrable benefit to treatment or care of a bone marrow cancer patient.

Recipients of the scholarship will be required to:

  • Provide a brief written progress report 6 months after commencement (one page maximum) and a final report (one to two pages) within a month of completing the research.
  • Be available to address the committee of the DCLF or another appropriate forum on the benefits of their scholarship if requested.
  • Provide a summary of the budget expenditure

Selection criteria

  • Applications will be assessed according to the scientific merit of the project and the relevance to bone marrow cancer.
  • A panel made up of appropriate members will assess the application
  • This scholarship is tenable for a maximum of twelve months .
  • All applicants will be advised whether or not they have been successful.

Eligibility

Open to any Tasmanian health professional with health related degree or any Tasmanian postgraduate student. For postgraduate students a supervisor must be nominated.

Payments will be made on the presentation of invoices or receipts for costs approved.
